Rugby World Cup

Rugby World Cup

-------------------------------------------------------------

At the very beginning of the last term of this year, the whole school and I hosted a rugby world cup in school. Basically, everybody was given a number and a country which they would later on become a part of. We lined up in all of our countries, and oh boy were there a lot! I was sorted into Ireland which was the first group.

All the groups did at least half of the activities and the activities were things like Duck Duck Goose, Rippa Rugby, Rats and Rabbits and Rob the Nest. There were loads of other activities that I can't quite remember the names of. Our school has a Rugby World Cup every year and I really enjoy all of them!

Shake Out | 17/10/19

Shake Out

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On Friday the 17th October our school and almost every other school in the country had a shake out. Pretty much a shake out is where the whole school has an earthquake drill and then afterwards has a Tsunami drill. I'm not sure whether all schools have a Tsunami drill straight after the earthquake one.

The drill started by the office giving an all-call (The office sends a message out to the whole school) that an earthquake is happening and then we were told to get under the tables. We stayed under the tables for about five minutes until we were told get out from under the tables and walk in single file to one of the gates. We have a safe zone from Tsunamis directly outside our school, but we have permission from one of the school parents to go up their drive way anyway just to be safe. The driveway is uphill and it's so big that it can fit the entire school on it, and there are over 300 students at our school!

In case of an earthquake emergency you always drop, cover and hold. Drop underneath a table, cover your head and neck, and wait until the shaking has stopped. If your outside or there's no room underneath a table just drop into a turtle position, and cover your head and neck.

I really hope you found this post interesting and useful.
