T2W2 Word Work


Valuable: The ruby was very Valuable. Valuable means very rare and special. English.

Biscuit: The biscuit was delicious. Biscuit is a type of cookie you eat. Middle French, middle English and medieval Latin.

Ridiculous: That frog looks ridiculous. Ridiculous means silly or stupid. Late Latin and Latin.

Transparent: The glass is transparent. Transparent mean’s see through. Late middle English and medieval Latin.

Ruin: Why did you ruin my house? Ruin means to destroy someone or something. Middle French, middle English and Latin.

Guess: I Guess you ate it. Guess means to try to guess what someone’s done. Middle English, middle Dutch, Norwegian and middle low German

Cough: I have a cough from yesterday. When you have a cough you make a sound and have a sore throat. Middle English and old English.

Argue: I don’t want to argue. Argue means to get angry at each other and have an argument. Old French, Middle English and Latin.

Circumference: The whole area extends to 42,200 acres, with a circumference of 56 metres.

Twilight: Want to go and see the twilight? Twilight is when the sun is below the horizon. Late Middle English.

Hoarse: His hoarse voice threw her off guard. Hoarse means to have a Wraucous voice. Old Norse, Old English and Middle English.

Seize: Dean decided to seize the moment. Seize means to take. Old French, Middle English and Medieval Latin.

League: I’m in a higher league than you. Sports An association of teams or clubs that compete chiefly among themselves.

Parliament: There’s a parliament in Moscow, Russia. Parliament is a building in the main city of your country. Old French, Anglo-Latin and Medieval Latin.

Champion: You're the Champion. You’re the champion usually when you’ve won something. Middle English, Old French and Late Latin.

  2. Kia Ora Emil, it's Kyra here. I like your post about Word Work because the title is very attracting. This reminds me of doing Word Work, what part of Word Work is the best part to you? Mine is the fun activity-obviously, because it is "Fun." Maybe next time you could make it more presentable by doing a screencastify or doing your Word Work on a slide. Miharo (Amazing) Work!
