Limerick | Poetry

Limerick

There once was a cold Genie
Who wished he owned a warm beanie
So he set out on his short mission
Then realised he hadn’t paid his tuition

And couldn’t afford a zucchini

Mistletoe Bay Camp 2020 Map | Topic

Above is a map of the route we took to our Mistletoe Bay camp. I have added in some interesting points along the way and some facts about those stops. I think this trip was amazing and would definitely do it again.

Futsal | Emil

Futsal

Futsal, pronounced foot-sool is basically an indoor version of football. The rules are pretty much the same except, instead of a throw in it's a kick in and it's five vs five instead of 11 vs 11. Every Monday and Thursday, my friends and I go down to the civic centre to play. Depending on how many people there are, we play a game or we create three teams and if one team scores then, the other team goes off and the other one comes on.

Last time we tried to play a tournament. We would got sorted into four different teams and then each team would vs one another. Futsal is really, really fun and if your into football then I suggest giving it a go!

Film Review | Toki Pounamu Film Festival

Film Review

------------------------------------------------------

Shortage of microphones causes headaches in primary school film making.

Yesterday at the Regent Theatre the Toki Pounamu Film Festival took place. Schools all over the Grey District burst out of the bus doors to observe the movies that the other schools have created. The seats filled up with Grey Main students first and then students from other schools started spilling through the doors like a tsunami. The first Film to roll on the big screen was one created by Paroa school featuring three of their students. Personally based on audio, graphics and just all around quality I think it was the best film to play that afternoon. Movies continued to roll up on the big screen that made students crack up and listen intensely. Some of the films audio wasn't to the best standard and nor was some of the camera quality. A few of the films used advanced green screen technology to improve the film and one school even used a drone! The Toki Pounamu festival is an amazing event and I think everybody loved it!

Grandparents Day | 2019

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Grandparents Day

-------------------------------------------------------------

On Friday last week, there was grandparents day. Grandparents day is when your grandparents come in and check out what you've been doing in your class. There were also some activities that you could do with your grandparents like make a grandparents profile and others. Sadly my grandparents couldn't come because they live on the other side of the world in Denmark...
All the grandparents came into our assembly as guests and saw our presentation and certificates as well. I think that grandparents day is a really good idea to share your learning publicly!
